The Fulham cafe that deserves more hype

This family-run cafe and restaurant on Fulham Road is the kind of place that genuinely feels like a hidden gem - a term I feel gets thrown around in the food world.

I dragged a friend along for brunch and left impressed... and perplexed that this cafe is not on everyone's radar yet.

What we ate

We shared the 'Vegetarian Breakfast'. A hearty plate of grilled halloumi, fried eggs, avo, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans and toast! I told you it was a hearty plate.

And the 'Fulham House Special', which ended up being my favourite dish of the day: toasted sourdough topped with truffle ricotta cheese, poached eggs, baby spinach, crushed chestnuts, pomegranate seeds, and a sprinkling of chilli flakes and chives.

We also opted for a sweet treat of 'French Toast' - a decadent dish of brioche, vanilla ice cream, almond butter and mixed berry jam, drizzled with maple syrup, and a helping of mini marshmallows and candy floss for good measure. It's worth noting that this is a very sweet dish, and won't be to everyone's palate, but we have sweet teeth.

They were even kind enough to accommodate an off-piste request for a babyccino and some eggs for our tiny guest, which was a lovely touch.

The savoury dishes definitely stole the show for me. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared.

It's an independent, family-run restaurant that is kid-friendly and even work-from-home friendly, so you can rock up no matter your circumstances and enjoy a relaxed, tasty meal. The service was faultless, and the food too.

Whether it’s brunch with friends, a coffee catch-up or a relaxed weekend morning, this is a Fulham cafe that truly deserves more hype.
