With the most wonderful time of year, comes the expense of buying your loved ones presents. I love giving gifts at Christmas time but sometimes thinking of what to get can be frustrating.
So, I’ve jotted down some ideas to hopefully help you get started if you are lacking inspiration on what to get the females in your life. (It goes without saying, that these items don’t have to exclusively be for females, I am not looking to offend).
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk
If your loved one is a beauty enthusiast like myself, Charlotte Tilbury is a high-end brand that they are sure to love and appreciate. I’ve opted for the lipstick in the shade Pillow Talk because it’s probably CT’s most popular colour. It’s neutral so you don’t have to worry about purchasing a shade that is out with your loved one’s comfort zone. Everyone loves a neutral lip.
Anything on Charlotte Tilbury website would be a hit if you are looking to splurge a little more. However, one item I would not recommend is the Mini Celebrity Lipstick Charms. I purchased this set of three mini lipsticks which I knew were going to be mini but the actual size is laughable.
Something you can do together, like gin tasting or a meal
One of my favourite type of gift is an activity that you and your loved one can do together. In our busy lives, it can sometimes be difficult to arrange regular catch ups with friends and family so why not gift them something which means that you both get to spend time together. I find presents like this to be very personal and sometimes better received than a product that they may not need.
My preferred options are gin tasting or a meal. Orchid in Aberdeen, as well as a few other bars, offer gin tasting. Or if gin isn’t your preference, wine tasting or cocktail making are other fun activities to take part in. I also love taking a loved one for a meal – this could be to their favourite restaurant or somewhere the two of you have never been before.
Itison is always my first choice when it comes to booking activities like I’ve mentioned. They have great deals and offer activities you maybe didn’t even know existed in your local area.
Personalisation is a type of product I purchase every single year without fail at Christmas time.
Notonthehighstreet is a brilliant website for everything personalised and where I purchased the next item.
This year, why not have a Pet Portrait drawn of your family’s furry friend. Not only is it a piece of art which is a wonderful gift, but it features their pet and it will definitely hold a special place in their heart.
Another personalised gift I think would be cherished is a cheese board. Even if your loved one isn’t the biggest fan of cheese, a cheese board can be used as decor in their kitchen or used to serve whatever food they do enjoy when they are hosting.
I went for one from Next which I think is beautiful. Parents love anything that is personalised with their family’s names, or so I’ve found.
Home decor is a perfect gift for anyone that owns a home. It’s practical and helps make a house a home.
I picked out a vase this year for a loved one. I opted for a spherical vase on s gold metal frame from Oliver Bonas. It’s on trend and will look beautiful in any home due to a neutral palette. If your loved one prefers a bit of colour, this vase also comes in blue.
Skincare can be pricey but essential in your loved one’s everyday life. I love receiving skin care at Christmas time because it means I can keep my skin looking and feeling great without having to spend myself. What’s also great is that many skincare brands take out gift sets at Christmas time which allows you to purchase more product for a better price.
Some of my personal favourites are Clinique and Pixi by Petra.
Well that’s all for today folks! Hopefully you found these gift ideas helpful (maybe not for this year, it’s quite last minute, oops)
