Having never been to The Ladyboys of Bangkok prior, I was beyond excited to head along to Aberdeen beach for an evening of cabaret goodness with Holly and our partners.
The Ladyboys, performing in their pink high-top known as the Sabai Pavilion, were celebrating their 21st year of shows with The Greatest Show Girls tour, filled with girl power classics from the likes of Tina Turner and Kylie Minogue and a mix of more up to date tunes to cater to everyone’s tastes.
The impressive Ladyboys, dolled up in glitzy outfits and perfect makeup will leave you having to double-take at just how feminine they appear. Honestly, these men look more like women than I do!
Perfect for a catch up with the girls or a hen party, the evening is full of dance, cheer and many laughs throughout and the crowd themselves can get involved by dancing and singing along. Or even better yet, getting pulled up on stage to take part in their comedic acts. The Ladyboys of Bangkok certainly have a special spot for male companions so if you take along your male friends they might find themselves taking centre stage during the performance – but keep that one a secret from them so they are in for a superb surprise.
That isn’t the only reason to pull your men with you to The Ladyboys of Bangkok. It’s just as entertaining for them as it is for us ladies. Our partners were fixated with the show and barely took their eyes off the showgirls. They were just as mesmerised as us.
Everyone gets incredibly involved and by the end, the whole Pavillion was up dancing and singing their hearts out to the show.
There is even a special Scottish tribute during the performance which adds that little extra touch to an already exuberant evening.
Food and Drinks?
Of course, there are two bars ready for all your drink needs including prosecco, wine and spirits to enhance your experience. In an attempt to minimise waste, The Ladyboys of Bangkok run an initiative where you pay £2 for a branded Ladyboys plastic cup with your first drink which is 100% refundable at the end of the show if you decide you do not want to keep the cup. Just don’t lose your raffle ticket!
If you fancy a spot of food also, there is a selection of Thai dishes waiting to be ordered. If that’s not your cup of tea, there are always burgers available too.
If you’re looking for an evening of fun, filled with drinks and giggles, then The Ladyboys of Bangkok is for you. You’re bound to enjoy your time swaying arms and singing along to the music with your friends. I know I certainly did.
