It’s been a long time since I’ve written a beauty post as I fell out of love for makeup and trying out new skincare bits. I had no time to play around with different looks and experiment with new routines. But recently I have found my passion again and wanted to share with you the skincare that has really transformed my dry, irritated skin.
The brand that I have been loving recently is Pixi Beauty. If you haven’t heard of Pixi Beauty before, it is a skincare and makeup brand that was started in London. Pixi aims to create natural products with botanicals and ingredients to really benefit the user.
I’ve been playing around with their products for quite some time now so I feel like I can give you a true representation of the 3 products that have saved my skin from their range.
Pixi Glow Tonic
The first product is arguably the most known product by Pixi.
The Glow Tonic is a beautiful toner that can be used daily to exfoliate to help tone, firm and tighten skin. The aim of this product is to remove dead skin cells to leave your skin feeling silky smooth and fresh.
Glow Tonic has glycolic acid within its ingredients which is known to be incredibly effective for the exfoliating process.
Aloe Vera is another key ingredient in this product which is wonderful for soothing the skin. I have irritated, blotchy skin at times and since using Glow Tonic, I’ve seen a huge improvement in redness.
Glow Tonic comes in different size bottles but the usual sized products retails for £18 for 250ml.
This is one of those products that I will continue to use for a long time to come and I’m so glad I discovered it.
After cleansing, I use a splash of this on a cotton pad daily to rid my skin of any imperfections and then follow up with my next skincare saviour.
Pixi Jasmine Oil Blend
Another skincare staple is the Pixi Jasmine Oil Blend.
As I mentioned, I have dry and irritated skin so adding an oil into my skincare routine has improved the look and feel of my skin. At first, I was a little wary as, although I have dry skin, my skin also has a tendency to go greasy throughout the day so I was worried that this would turn my face into an oil slick and I would break out. But, I was wrong.
Since using this product, I have actually had fewer break outs and my skin feels silky smooth all of the time, which is something I haven’t been able to say for quite some time.
This particular oil contains jasmine flower extract which helps to heal and balance the skin. Evening primrose is another ingredient that is heavily used in this product which helps to boost circulation and also hydrates tired skin.
I use a drop of this on my skin every morning after I cleanse and tone with my Glow Tonic, focusing it mainly on the more delicate parts of my face, such as the under-eye area, and the areas I find my skin most flaky, which tends to be around my nose and cheeks. All you have to do is rub it a little between your fingers and apply. I also like to pat it into the skin so I know it’s really getting worked in and soaking up the product.
This oil retails for £26 which may seem a little pricey, but for a quality oil, it is actually rather affordable. Also, a little goes a long way so a bottle should last you a considerable amount of time.
Pixi Overnight Glow Serum
The final product I need to mention is the Overnight Glow Serum.
This little bottle of fabulousness is a concentrated, gel-like serum that can be used nightly to soothe and transform skin while you are asleep.
The ingredients include glycolic acid, again great for exfoliation, and Vitamin A which helps to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. I believe everyone should start protecting their skin at a young age and this is the perfect product to do so. There is also cucumber and aloe vera extract within to calm the skin which is perfect for someone with irritated skin like myself.
I use this in the same way as Jasmine Oil Blend and apply after I cleanse and tone in the evening before I head to bed. I like to use a slightly larger drop compared to my daily oil just to maximise the results throughout the night.
Again, this bottle is £26 but a little does go a long way and I think it’s totally worth the spend.
My Final Thoughts
If like myself you cannot afford high-end, luxury skincare, I believe Pixi is a brilliant alternative, especially these three products I have mentioned.
Each one has transformed my dull skin and since using these products I’ve barely worn makeup which is something I never thought I would do.
I truly love Pixi Beauty and I think you all will too.
