Recently, I went on a bit of a high-end beauty splurge, treating myself to some gorgeous makeup since I hadn’t done so in a while. One of the brands I spent some hard-earned pennies at was BECCA Cosmetics.
BECCA Cosmetics is a brand I have loved for a few years now, especially the highlighter in Champagne Pop. It’s my everyday highlighter when I’m tanned so I knew the quality of the products I purchased wouldn’t be amiss.
You’re here to see the makeup so let’s get on with that.
Be A Light Face Palette
The first product that drew me in was the Be A Light Palette in medium to deep. I was after a fan palette that I could use to really bronze up when I am tanned and so I thought this would be perfect.
The palette consists of 4 powders.
The first powder is the brightening powder that you can use all over your face to brighten and boost your skin’s radiance. It’s a silky smooth powder that blends seamlessly over the skin doing exactly as the name suggests.
The next is the blur powder which can be used to blur your skin making it appear flawless and even any imperfections. This powder is great for using all over the face to add a hint of colour while setting your makeup in place. This won’t keep your makeup matte, but over a matte foundation, I find this works wonderfully to leave my face looking fresh and glowy.
The first smaller pan contains the marbled blusher. This is a beautiful deep, rose shade with gold shimmer throughout which is gorgeous for adding a pop of colour to your cheeks. I’m not a huge blusher fan usually but I’ve really enjoyed using a light sweep of this over the cheeks to give a little bit of life to my skin.
And finally, the bronzer. This is definitely a warm, deep shade, especially on my skin tone but this is exactly what I wanted. It means I only need a small amount and I appear sun-kissed, rather than using my other bronzer which requires so much product and time to appear bronzed on my skin.
All of this gorgeous product comes in the most stunning rose gold packaging that looks picturesque sitting on your dressing table.
Backlight Priming Filter
I ran out of my drugstore primer and thought, hell, why not purchase a BECCA one as a replacement.
The Backlight Priming Filter definitely stood out to me in terms of their primer options. I always use a matte foundation but sometimes feel that it can be quite drying and lacklustre on the skin so really wanted to try out an illuminating primer to add a bit of glow to the skin.
And that is exactly what this primer does. A little goes a long way in smoothing the skin while adding a subtle healthy, dewy glow to the skin. I feel that this primer blurs any imperfections with my complexion and makes my skin look slightly airbrushed. If I hadn’t been going on nights out the times I had used this, I definitely would’ve considered going without foundation because I liked how my skin looked – and that’s never something I usually say.
This primer also has the added benefit of Vitamin E and liquorice extract to anti-oxidise and tighten the skin, leaving your bright and firm while also providing protection against free-radical attacks.
Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter in Royal Glow
As I have already mentioned, the highlighter I do already own is a firm favourite in my makeup routine so when BECCA were offering a free highlighter in the shade Royal Glow with purchases over a certain amount, I was ecstatic.
Their Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighters are of a buttery smooth consistency that blend seamlessly onto the skin, giving the most perfect, illuminated glow. They sink into the skin and leave you with the most natural but striking highlight that lasts all night.
I like to think of Royal Glow as a mix between champagne pop and my other everyday classic – Mary LouManizer – which together gives the most beautiful highlight combination. If you haven’t tried this combination out, I highly suggest you do, it’s my holy grail.
But, as I’m hitting pan on both I knew I would need to restock soon so having one highlighter that can replace two is great. It’s a warm but light shade that looks divine on pale or tanned complexions. I love it.
Final Thoughts
I had high hopes when I purchased these products and I can safely say I am not disappointed. The palette feels so luxurious and blends like a dream. The primer has my skin feeling and looking superb so it’s a win and the highlighter was an added little bonus that ended up working out amazingly in my favour.
Of course, BECCA is on the pricier side of beauty but as a treat to yourself, it’s a brand that is totally worth the price tag in my opinion.
What BECCA products do you swear by?
Have you checked out The Pixi Skincare Saviours? It’s all about the skincare that saved my skin.
Those photos are beautiful 😍
Thanks lovely 💗💗
Becca has such gorgeous products! I really wanted to try that face palette but the lighter version sold out and never restocked on Sephora. I love their purple primer and have been meaning to try the Backlight primer here. And of course you can’t go wrong with their highlighters!
Aww that is such a shame! The palette is one of my staples now, it’s lovely for a bronzed, glowy look. I’ve never tried their purple primer but I’m definitely intrigued! Is it purple for any particular reason??
Thanks for reading!
It’s purple to neutralize dullness in your skin. It helps to brighten everything up and is super hydrating 🙂 I just picked it up again the other day!
