If you had told me I’d be wearing animal print even a couple of years ago, I would have laughed in your face. It’s a trend that’s seen itself into many shops since as long as I can remember and I’d always turn my nose up at it.
I saw animal print as cheap, tacky and I never understood the appeal. At all.
That was until last year when animal print hit the catwalks in a big way. Everywhere you looked there was animal print lining the racks. It’s a trend that’s stuck around for the year and still booming today.
And now, I can’t get enough of this wild aesthetic. Give me all the tiger print, zebra print, leopard print!
My animal print collection has gone from a solid zero to now having multiple pieces that are a staple in my wardrobe.
It’s such a versatile theme. It can be dressed up, casual, colourful, monochrome. It really works for every occasion which is something I love. If I buy an outfit, I want that outfit to be multifunctional, otherwise, I feel it is a waste of my non-existent funds.
My current animal print favourite
I thought I’d take this opportunity to talk about one my favourite pieces in my wardrobe currently.
It’s this gorgeous tiger print midi skirt from Nasty Gal. It’s super floaty with the side slit to show off some cheeky leg – so flattering. The ruffled, asymmetric hem adds a feminine touch to this wild print.
I decided to team this with a black turtle neck top which I think really helps the skirt pop. I picked up these incredible boots from Koi Footwear, a footwear store well known for its vegan leather boots. These boots are a firm favourite in my collection now and there is a good chance you will be seeing them all the time – sorry not sorry (insert sassy girl emoji). They add a touch of grunge to this outfit which I love.
This skirt would also be beautiful for an event. Team the skirt with a delicate cami top and slinky pair of heels and you can take this piece from day to night. Brilliant.
I’m such a huge fan of this style now and I really do hope it sticks around for quite some time more.
Are you loving animal print?
Such a sassy look! 100% in love with those boots 😍

They’re gorgeous huh 😍😍
I actually love this look, which surprises me as I’m not a fan of animals prints generally. I’ve never got on with the leopard print trend but tiger, could definitely be an option.
Yes! I used to be the same but now I’m LOVING IT. Tiger is definitely one of the more wearable prints I’d feel! It’s a good place to start x
