After a successful evening of eating at McGinty’s and eventing at Fit & Skin Studio, Holly and I decided to continue our night of fun and head along to a few more bars before heading home. One being, Revolution Vodka Bar.
Originally we headed in with the plan to enjoy a fruity cocktail or two and make use of the Revolution discount during the week which makes cocktails £4.50 each, bargain.
We quickly bypassed the usual cocktail menu pages and were instantly drawn in by their new V&T drink range. G&Ts are all the rage right now so it seemed smart that Revolution, being a vodka bar, would mix this classic up and offer our G&T crazed society a vodka version.
Aivy and Tonic
Anything with a splash of fruit is a piece of me so I was drawn in by the sound of the Aivy and Tonic. This invigorating beverage is made with a blend of aivy vodka, Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Aromatic Tonic and blackcurrants with lemon and a sprig of mint.
Vodka and tonic is not something I had ever tasted previously so getting used to the flavour was a little strange but once adjusted, I found the drink light and easy to drink and it was a nice change from my regular gin and tonic. Once upon a time, vodka was my main drink of choice so it felt quite nostalgic.
Ketel One and Aromatic Tonic
Holly went for the Ketel One and Aromatic Tonic option, which is another vodka drink, obviously, also served with Refreshingly Light Aromatic Tonic, juniper berries, hibiscus and lemon.
Her verdict? Holly found her drink to be quite spicy and christmassy almost. With the juniper, the drink had a distinctive gin taste, almost making you forget you are drinking vodka. She did very much enjoy it and it would be an option she’d happily choose again!
Final Thoughts
If you aren’t a fan of gin and want to fit in with the ‘trend’, then I’d suggest giving these a go. Or of course, if you do like gin, I’d still recommend giving one a try. They are pretty refreshing and a mix twist on the classic G&T.
And for £4.50 during the week for a large glass of alcohol like this when they are usually about £9 is all the more reason to drink on a work day. One won’t harm you…
Such a good evening! You’re right though – who can say no to a £4.50 drink on a school night! xx
You’d be mad to say no 🙌🏻
